רונן פרי הוא פרופסור מן המניין בפקולטה למשפטים ומנהל המרכז ע”ש וילי ז. אפטוביצר לחקר סיכון, אחריות וביטוח באוניברסיטת חיפה. פרופ’ פרי למד בתוכנית החד-תחומית לתלמידים מצטיינים באוניברסיטת תל אביב וקיבל תואר ראשון בהצטיינות מהפקולטה למשפטים בשנת 1996. בין השנים 1997-2000 שירת כקצין מחקר והדרכה ולאחר מכן כקצין ייעוץ בפרקליטות הצבאית. למד במסלול הישיר לדוקטורט בפקולטה למשפטים של האוניברסיטה העברית וקיבל את התואר בהצטיינות יתירה בשנת 2001.
פרסם ספר וכשבעים מאמרים בתחומי המשפט הפרטי (במיוחד דיני הנזיקין), ההליך המשפטי ותורת המשפט, וכן עוסק במחקרים אמפיריים על המשפט ומוסדותיו בלי מחויבות לענף משפטי ספציפי.
