Yajie Gao (‘Yajie’) is a PhD candidate, Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary, University of London (‘QMUL’), UK. Yajie is doing research into anti-monopoly review of concentrations in the digital economy from a comparative perspective. Her supervisor is Pro. Ioannis Kokkoris. She has participated in research project organized by the State Administration for Market Regulation under direction of Prof. Wei Han, co-authored article ‘SEPs and Competition Law – from Perspective of the Case Huawei v. IDC’ with Pro. Xiaoye Wang and finished preliminary translation draft of the book ‘EU Merger Control – A Legal and Economic Analysis’ (from English to Chinese) independently. Topics about her master degree thesis are ‘Some Issues of Merger Control - A Comparison between the Chinese and EU Systems’ and ‘Anti-Monopoly Review by the European Commission of Concentrations between Chinese State-Owned Enterprises and EU Undertakings – From Perspective of “Single Economic Entity” Doctrine’ respectively. Before studying at QMUL, Yajie served as a paralegal for around two years.
