Professor of Law at the University of Athens and Member of the Bar of Athens. He is a graduate of the Universities of Athens (LL.B., 1976), Tübingen/Germany (Dr. iur., 1982) and Michigan (LL.M., 1985).
He has been a Member (1995-1999) and Chairman (2000-2003) of the Hellenic Competition Commission (National Competition Authority). He has served as Chief Legal Counsel and as General Director of Regulatory Affairs of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (2003-2006) and a Chief Legal Counsel of EFG Eurobank (2006-2008). He is currently Member of the Legal Council of the Bank of Greece (Central Bank).
He has published books and articles on Competition Law, Unfair Trade Practices, Trademarks, Corporate and Consumer Protection Law in Greek English and German.
Prof. Tzouganatos has served as member or Chairman of several Arbitral Tribunals (in ICC-, DIS-, VIAC- as well as in domestic Arbitrations). He has also appeared as an Expert Witness in International Arbitrations.
