מוטי (מרדכי) מירוני הוא פרופסור למשפטים, חתן פרס בר-ניב למשפט עבודה (1989) ומבכירי המגשרים בישראל. פרופסור מן המניין למשפטים (אמריטוס) באוניברסיטת חיפה ופרופסור נלווה בפקולטה למשפטים של אוניברסיטת רייכמן.
שימש בעבר כחבר סגל באוניברסיטת תל-אביב, כפרופסור אורח באוניברסיטאות מובילות בעולם וכמרצה אורח בתוכניות לימוד מתקדמות ביישוב סכסוכים ובמשפט ספורט בחו"ל.
