ד״ר ניצן גסלביץ פקין היא מרצה בכירה בפקולטה, בה השתלבה לאחר כמעט עשור כחברת סגל באוניברסיטת העיר ניו יורק, ולאחר שלימדה כמרצה מן החוץ ב- NYU. ד״ר פקין חוקרת ומלמדת נושאים הקשורים במשפט עסקי, רגולציה פיננסית וטכנולוגיה, בהם גם עסקה במשך שנים בתור עורכת דין בניו יורק במשרד Skadden Arps בקבוצות הבנקאות וההבראה מחדש של חברות.
ד״ר פקין התמחתה בבית המשפט העליון בישראל, בלשכתו של השופט סלים ג׳ובראן. היא עבדה כסטודנטית ב FTC – רשות ההגבלים העסקיים הפדרלית, ושימשה כסטודנטית-מתמחה אצל השופט ג’ק וויינשטיין בבית המשפט הפדרלי המחוזי בניו יורק. היא בעלת טור דיעה ב- Forbes, שם היא כותבת על נושאים הקשורים לרגולציה פיננסית, ופרסמה טורי דעות בעיתונים מובילים כגון כלכליסט ,גלובס, הוול סטריט ג’ורנל American Banker, Newsday ו- Bottom Line. רעיונותיה לגבי רגולציה פיננסית צוטטו בעיתונות הדיגיטלית באתרים כגון COINDESK, BUSINESS INSIDER, YAHOO FINANCE ועוד.
