Dr Maria Casoria serves as General Counsel and Assistant Professor of Commercial Law at the Royal University for Women (RUW) in Bahrain. Since September 2015 she has been an Advisor in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot at RUW College of Law, the faculty responsible for all activities related to the Annual Middle East Vis Pre-Moot Training and Competition on behalf of RUW, and she has also organised a Research Symposium on International Commercial Law and Arbitration as one of the key events of the programme in 2019. Her scholarship includes several papers and book chapters on a variety of topics in the fields of Commercial Law, Competition Law, Privacy in the Digital Markets, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She has contributed to the research activities of two research projects led by the University of Siena, Italy, awarded the biannual European Union Research Grant Jean Monnet Activities 2018–2020 and 2020-2022 on security of data and open banking respectively.
