The main topic of this seminar will be “Law and Economics of Natural Hazard Management in a Changing Climate”. Abstracts should be submitted by September 15th, 2010 for review by a scientific board at the University of Innsbruck. Full papers are due by January 31st, 2011. 20/12/09 CALL FOR PAPERS: PHILIP D. SHELTON PRIZE FOR OUTSTANDING LEGAL EDUCATION RESEARCH. The Shelton Prize is for outstanding published empirical research related to legal education. The prize of $5,000 will be awarded in 2010 for research published in 2008 or 2009. The winner(s) will be invited to present the paper at the LSAC annual meeting, which will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on June 2-5, 2010. 11/12/09 New Journal Announcement and Call for Papers: The European Journal of Risk Regulation (EJRR) is a new international journal that provides an innovative forum for informed and scholarly discussion on how risks are regulated across policy domains in Europe and beyond. While the central focus of the journal is the European law regulating inter alia Chemicals (REACH), Nanomaterials, Pharmaceuticals, Food and Feed, Cosmetics, Pollution, Climate Change, Industrial Accidents and Public Health, discussion extends to other social sciences, such as regulation studies, risk analysis, safety science, political science and sociology. The EJRR invites submissions for the first issues of the journal. The editors are looking for papers that communicate new research, business analysis and policy insights to an informed readership across EU regulatory domains. The EJRR is expected to 'go life' in Spring 2010, and we therefore ask that work be submitted no later than January 17, 2010. Paper authors will receive an honorarium of $1,000 to cover reasonable transportation expenses, if more than one author presents at the symposium, the honorarium will be divided equally between the presenters.
